A quilt walk is a kind of quilt show without all the detailed judging. Our quilt walk is going to be fun and no pressure. There will be a few categories of popular voting by the public, the mayor, kids, our town’s Thump Queen and our pastor. But there won’t be any worries about matching points or perfect binding. This is meant to be a fun colorful event.
The quilts will be displayed outdoors under cover and protected from rain. They will also only be displayed for a few hours. So this is a great first show type for a person who hasn’t ever displayed their quilt in public before. It’s going to be a fun afternoon to stroll around and just see what people are making and doing.
Entry information will be posted by Sept 1, 2025.
Quilts will have to be delivered by the Saturday prior to the showing. We are going to be crazy busy the morning of setting everything up for the event. So please don’t try to bring your quilt the morning of. We apologize in advance. We tried to accommodate last minute people last year and it was really really difficult. So instead of everyone being unhappy and stressed out, we ask that you kindly bring your quilts in advance. They will be locked up and handled with care.
The car show benefits our Wednesday Night No Strings Supper. We have a community supper that’s feeds about 250 people including shut-ins in and around Luling. Several churches support our effort at Church if the Annunciation.
Entry is $25 and check-in is at 10 am.
Location for Check-in under the awning at just across from the Thump Pavilion entrance at 319 E Davis St, Luling TX 78648.
Under NO circumstances will we accept payment in advance for the car show.
We accept entries IN PERSON the morning of during check in only!
Those pesky online scammers really ruin it for people, please don’t think they are part of our group as they try to phish. They aren’t. None of us will ask for payment in advance for the car show. Period.

Our creed represents our mission. No String Suppers Began in the Fall of 2014, Annunciation’s priest at the time, Bur Dobbins, felt a need to feed this community. Bur’s only rule was that anyone and everyone would be welcome; that no one ever be turned away. There would be no strings attached to receiving a meal.
Some ten years later, the No Strings suppers have grown to feed as many as 300 meals every Wednesday night. Neither rain, nor snow, nor holidays, nor a COVID pandemic have stopped the No Strings Suppers. “Food is Love” is our creed, and we continue to feed people when they need it most. Supper at Annunciation on Wednesday evenings has become a staple for many people, who come for a hot meal, many eating in with family and friends.
Over the years, other churches like Mineral Springs Baptist Church, First United Methodist church and other community volunteers have joined us on Wednesday nights, making this truly a community effort. Serving meals includes delivering meals to the elderly and shut-ins; the children of Legacy Ranch join us frequently to dine-in.
The No Strings Suppers crew thinks it’s time to celebrate and keep filling those tummies!
Which means, this is your chance to be a part of this community effort. Whether as a sponsor with a monetary or in-kind donation, or donating an item to the silent auction, or volunteering your time and talent to the big event, you can also live the Food is Love creed of the No Strings Suppers. The celebration includes a Quilt Walk, Car Show, bucket drop raffle, and fun activities for the kids.
